Tastemaker matches you with the perfect interior decorator for your project and you work together to transform your space.

What locations do you serve?

We currently service all of the US with our remote design service. In the San Francisco Bay Area we also offer in-person design services.

How does pricing work?

Tastemaker has two pricing models: hourly and flat fee. Most in-person projects are hourly, while remote projects are typically priced as a flat fee. Either way, we’ll work within your budget.

How much work is involved on my end?

This depends on the project and on how much you’d like to be involved. Some of our clients love painting their own rooms and ask our decorators for DIY project options. Others prefer a more hands-off approach and hire professionals to help them execute their designs.

What do you need from me?

You’ll take a short design quiz so we can learn a little about you, your style, your space, and your design needs. For some projects we’ll also ask for photos of your space.

How long does it take to get a final design?

Design time varies depending on the scope of the project. A good rule of thumb is 1-3 weeks per room.

Can I use my own contractor?


Will the decorator give me a list of vendors in my area?

Yes, if you’re working with a local decorator they can recommend vendors in your area. Tastemaker can also recommend services to help you find local vendors.

Who will paint my room?

If your design involves painting, you can paint your own room or hire a professional. Our decorators provide the specific paint color and brand, so either way, you or the painter will know exactly what to purchase.
